Some of you have known about my old site. It went down years ago and I've spent YEARS working on a rebuild of the site. I wanted and still want to properly document the live history of our favorite band. You could easily spend hours looking through the information found on the site. It isn't completely finished yet (1996 and the Related Performances section still suffer from some dead links, most the remnants of a project I abandoned) but it's finished enough for it to be out in the public eye.
I hope you guys and gals dig it. Enjoy the shows this weekend!
I'll be by here and there to answer questions. Feel free to add any information I don't have in my guide in this post as well.
Cheers!
matt
Bump bump bump, this is the most significant fan site on the net and it's back, better than ever, just in time for The Vic! Great job!
I've known Matt for almost as long as he's been compiling info and his knowledge of the band is insanely deep and comprehensive...as much as he loves and knows about a few other bands (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Pumpkins), SG is #1 or at least his #1 mission because for many years (and still today to some extent); no one's cared enough to make their own site comparable to one of our shared favorites, http://www.nirvanaguide.com/ .
This is a good week!
Love the site! Thanks Matt for all your hard work getting it back up live!
nice work dude.
Absolutely love to read set lists and venues from shows past...Thanks A Lot! Any recommendation on live recordings such as a certain year/tour or even a specific show? anyone?
There's a list of the best audios and videos to start with in the FAQ. I really like 2/12/89, 9/03/90, 5/02/92, 1/18/94, 8/27/95 and 9/16/96 and keep coming back to them over and over again as far as audio goes.
Awesome!!! Love browsing threw the different shows. Appreciate all the work you put into this!!!
Oh HELL YEAH!! congratulations on the launch, and thanks for doing it. was a fan of the old one, can't wait to check it out!
This is fantastic thanks for the heads up on the re launch. I am having a blast sifting through all the seltlist and related info
Thank you for your hard work!
I was the one who Taped these if you need anymore info, etc.
2/14/92 Aragon Ballroom Chicago, IL
5/2/92 Riviera Theatre Chicago, IL
11/9/96 Aragon Ballroom Chicago, IL
With any luck, the Live Guide should have near-instant setlist updates tomorrow night as I will be texting them to Mr. Mareede. If I notice any celebrity sightings I'll send that too, so stay tuned.
WoW great job! Nice to see all the times they appeared at places over the years. And the Audio Video and other info is perfect.

Paul, right? Much respect! Those are great tapes of great shows. I'll let you know if I need any more information.
I went through and fixed all my dead links from 1996, which is all that remained. I have a few more tweaks to the FAQ and the mislabels guide and the site will be totally finished.
Thanks for all the kind words!
BTW, I'll have full details from tonight's show up tomorrow at some point. I wish I could be there, but alas, here in Portland, Oregon I do not get to travel space and time.
Yes....Paul. I have ticket stubs if you need scans...Opening band info, etc...Let me know. I seen SG 18 other times, but did not tape...Have ticket stubs if you need scans...Comments, etc...Can't believe they fucked me over for tonight at the VIC. I'm pissed!!!
http://www.soundgardenliveguide.com/2010/20100805.htm
Vic Theater show entry is already updated. I had a source on the inside as well.
The Live Guide, like the Death Star, is now fully functional with everything synced together. Hope you guys dig it.
Hey Mareede, I have an update for your live guide (looks great btw, thanks for all the work you've put in!)
I downloaded a Henry Rollins spoken word bootleg from April 1990 a few months ago, and he mentions twice (at the very beginning and end) that Soundgarden are playing "upstairs" after he finishes. I checked the archived SG Live Guide page:
http://web.archive.org/web/20040930200342/www.ilstu.edu/~mareede/
and didn't see it, and it isn't on the new page.
Anyway, here's your proof.
http://bruunski.blogspot.com/2007/04/henry-rollins-ancienne-belgique-bru...
you work very hard!!!!!! Vic theater is updated!!!!! yesterday show and today is updated!!! matt, you are the man.
have you been over there?
FANTASTIC Matt! thank you for the excellent resource.
Audio for the Vic show is out. Look around and you might find it. It sounds great!
All I can say is WHOO-HOO!!! Matt, I think it's safe to say that I've missed this website more than any other. Congrats on the rebirth. P.S. Are you still in Portland?
I printed out your whole live guide several years ago, just in case (did all the info about boots...off of the unofficial too). Thanks for doing all this and all the shows you have seeded on Dime over the years. Now get busy uploading all the ones you haven't put up yet and see if you can get some inside info/video/audio on all the shows from 84-88. I want to see progress on this ASAP.

I'm sure you're kidding (a little) but find Matt some leads and he'll work on them. The thing is when he started this, there was no guide or even collection of information like this, there was no bootlist this comprehensive (public, anyway), there was no accurate generation information. There's at least a dozen people with large roles in the Nirvana community we're both a part of (to a lesser degree these days), but Matt is THE source of all things bootleg when it comes to Soundgarden, period (not that he hasn't had assistance from others here and there). He will continue to work on this I'm sure but he's a busy dude these days with other priorities that call upon him. If you want to help, my suggestion is get thee up to Seattle and get some old tapers to give up the goods...all I can say is good luck with that but we'll all be appreciative of any results or even efforts!
Believe me, I'm really not sitting on hundreds of shows that are currently uncirculated. I've put out at least 40-50 shows from my collection. In time I'll put out what else I have.
Are you still in Portland?
I am! Have we met before?
There should be a large update coming tomorrow (or Tuesday, depending on how my work day is tomorrow) featuring Lollapalooza information, some new dates and a ton of new pictures and ticket stubs that I've discovered wading through my own hard drives and folders at home.
Hopefully there will be some new tour dates to go with everything...
Glad to see the live guide's back!
Updates today:
Added setlist, photos and notes to the Lollapalooza set. Also added poster and video link for the 4/16 Showbox gig and poster, additional photos and a new source to Thursday's Vic Theater show. As of this writing there is no known source for Lollapalooza. As far as old shows go, here goes: added a new date, 4/14/90* in Brussels, Belgium thanks to Motorvision on the Soundgarden World forums. From here on out I will refer to new shows (that is shows that now have a link with additional information with a *. Added setlist and source information for 3/02/90 (Denver, CO)*. Added advertisements for 2/23/90, 7/25/90 and 4/16/92* (Portland, OR on all three). Added ticket stubs to 2/19/90*, 4/02/92*, 4/28/92, 8/01/92*, 8/18/93 and 7/02/96. Added photos to 8/12/92, 5/27/94*, 7/10/96 and 7/30/96. Added screenshots for 3/17/90 (thanks to TeamDZ), 2/08/94 (Kawasaki, JP) and 6/04/94 (Berkeley, CA). Fixed dead photo links for the 1987 late winter show and added a link where you can purchase a poster of a classic Soundgarden photo from this show. Finally, added a tour advertisement for the 1994 Japanese shows. We still aren't much closer to solving that mystery but this is a start. Last but not least, there are rumblings of an Australian tour early next year. It goes without saying that this would be a welcome developement. Let's hope there are more tour dates planned than just this. Keep the faith!
Awesome, mareede, love the site! Cinnabon ftw.
there arent photos of Ben and Matt from lollapalloza !!!!!!
there arent photos of Ben and Matt from lollapalloza !!!!!!
Give it time. I just added what I found on a few websites.
Also: it's really difficult to get a good photo of a drummer at a rock show. I photograph shows and I have very few good drummer shots. They're always in the back, they aren't lit well and they're usually buried behind their kit.
Expect a blitz on my site after I actually get to see them since I'll probably photograph and record them every time I see them. Between now and then I doubt there will be much to add since I put absolutely everything I had online.
A humble thank you:)

nice find gornandez, now the tricky part is to find out if any of them might have gotten cancelled!
Are you still in Portland?
I am! Have we met before?
Never in person, just online (check your PMs).

BUMP! The Live Guide has been updated with all the information presented above plus a bunch of other stuff. I've got a few things I'm sitting on (a few ticket stubs to scan, etc) but most things have been added. Note the new show that surfaced (9/02/95) - I've been waiting on this one for a long time. For those that can, you should go download it. It sounds great.
The next update should come around the time Telephantasm is released. Please note though, that I have three teaching sections come the 20 September and might not be able to update the guide as frequently. However, keep sending along information and I'll keep compiling it for use. I could not keep this thing going without you guys!
a little confusion in florida in 1990, a poster and a ticket:

i noticed that on the notes for the 2010 lollapalooza show at the live guide it says there are mp3's of the show circulating. can anyone point me in the right direction? i'd love to hear some (preferably ALL) of this.
Have you visited jeffgarden.com lately? I think you will really like that website...

Looks like 5th and 6th to me for the first two. Last is definitely Birmingham, and I think the venue is Irish Centre, which is a Birmingham rock venue according to the interweb.
I guess someone can always ask the seller the question - you know, because "I" saw Soundgarden back in England in 1990 and want to make sure the press release coincided with the show I saw......
mwahahaha! i found more venues.... im havin too much fun doing this. it's great when you find exactly what you were looking for and then out of 32 pages one of the 2 they scanned was the one you needed.

mareede, it might be nice if you reincorporated support acts or what tour they were part of back into the liveguide.. i think the old liveguide is where i got the info that they were opening these dates for skidrow
@ WildWeasel - I'd believe Irish Center. but yeh, I was thinking the same thing... asking the seller, that is...
Thank you very much Matt. Your hard work, years of love and dedication are greatly appreciated! The Internet is a better place for all, thanks to people like you.

Gornandez, you are a beast! I can't thank you enough for all this research.
I'm going to pull "Hands All Over" from the setlist since another source also verified they didn't play it. The only reason I had it listed was that somebody told me that they played material from as far back as Louder Than Love. Obviously, that's not true.
There's a big update coming hopefully this weekend. It all depends on how much free time I get.
I was at both '94 and '97 Adelaide shows and coudn't remember the setlists for either. Thanks for digging up the '97 one. I'm officially delighted!
matt, very good work. i've liked it
